1923-1934: The Creation of Mickey Mouse

The first Mickey Mouse film



In the year 1923, an animator, Walt Disney made a short film entitled Alice's Wonderland. Walt Disney was only in the beginning of his career when his film, Laugh-O-Gram was bankrupted. Luckily, he has a brother under film production, Roy O. Disney, and he decided to move to Hollywood and formed a studio together with his brother entitled, the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio that was changed after 3 years to Walt Disney Studio. Disney later on developed an all-cartoon series starring a character named Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. Unfortunately, the Oswald the Lucky Rabbit was only under a year contract. To recover, Walt Disney replaced it with a similar animation, a mouse version of Oswald the Rabbit that was later on named as Mickey Mouse. Through out the years of development, Walt Disney Production found ways to improve the animation by signing a contract with Technicolor, to produce more hue for the animation, and to a Sound Studio, improving sound effects and voice dub.




1934-1954: The World War II


Influencing America though animation.



Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was the first ever feature length film and it that was aired after 3 years of production. The studio continued to create and released short films such as Dumbo (1941), Bambi (1942), and Fantasia (1940). After World War II began, 90% of the 550 employees of Walt Disney started working on war related propaganda films after Walt received a request from the US government to produce propaganda films. The Disney production contributed a lot onto the success of the US government through their effective propaganda movement with films such as the feature Victory Through Air Power and the short Education for Death both in 1943. Disney studio was the only film studio production that was under military occupancy during the World War II. Due to the war there were only limited number of staffs inside the production. Beginning from the year 1944, Disney channel started to produce short length films that was usually solo films from the characters of Mickey Mouse Club House.




1966-2000: The Disney Land and New Leadership

Walt Disney opened the first ever Disney theme park, the Disneyland to the public in the year 1955. During the same time, Walt was also planning to create a second theme park which is the Disney World. The movie adaptation of Mary Poppins was a huge success in the film industry for the year 1960. Unfortunately, the legendary Walt Disney had passed away due to complications with lung cancer in the year 1966. By that time, Roy took over as the president of the company. Films such as Sleeping Beauty (1959), and Jungle Book (1967) were produced in this era. Only after 4 years from the year Walt died, Roy also died of stroke. The company was then led by Donn Tatum, Card Walker, and Ron Miller.




2000-2020: New Technology


Marvel and Disney Production



Through out the continuous success of the Disney production, they developed different partnership with huge brands that helped their production to rise in the industry even more. In the year 2002, Disney studio showed interest onto buying Universal Studio as it was already expected by the public due to their loyal partnership through out the years. In the year 2005, Disney produced the first ever 3 Dimensional (3-D) animation film, Chicken Little. After a few more years, Disney widen their production with more purchases of different productions such as the Marvel Entertainment, Pixar, Lucas Film, and 21st Century Fox. As reported, Disney earned 18 billion dollars more after the purchase for Marvel Studios.
